De Riesling ‘Arcillas’ 2022 is een wijn die u geproefd moet hebben. Het is een gestructureerd meesterwerk met complexe aroma's van bijenwas, citrusfruit met schil, appels met schil, aardse tonen, wat mispels en een hint van spontane gisting. In de mond is hij kurkdroog, delicaat, extractrijk en begiftigd met een textuur die alleen amforagerijpte wijnen kunnen bereiken en die zelfs doet denken aan het oppervlak van gebakken klei. “Deze riesling is een van de meest karakteristieke en complexe witte wijnen van Chili”, schreef Tim Atkin over de jaargang 2021 – en dat geldt zeker ook voor het jaar 2022.

I hope this won't sound like exaggeration, but I can't remember tasting a better Riesling from the New World in the last decade. Sourced from a single 0.7-hectare parcel in one of Chile's most beautiful vineyards, this is an unwooded marvel that used 20% skin fermentation. Celery and honeysuckle aromas lead you into a concentrated, perfectly balanced palate of lime, green apple and wet stones. Stunning. 2023-29

Intricate nose of lemon rind, apples and just a touch of petrol. Bone dry and gastronomic, with a textural allure to the center palate. This is very limpid and refined. Pithy, mineral-driven finish. 30% fermented in tinajas. 5,000 bottles made.

Laberinto has 0.7 hectares of riesling planted on volcanic ash soils on a south-facing slope that extends down to the shore of Lago Colbún, in the Maule Valley. The first vintage of this wine was the 2019, although these 30-year-old vines were already being used in white blends. It’s a wine with clear fruit aromas and a focus on herbal and some citrusy notes. This wine is extremely young and needs time in the bottle to gain complexity.

De wijn
Deze riesling is afkomstig van een perceel van 0,7 hectare. De wijnstokken staan aangeplant op kiezelbodems met een hoog vulkanisch gehalte en ze worden voortdurend blootgesteld aan de koele winden uit de Andes. De riesling werd spontaan gefermenteerd en rijpte in meer dan 100 jaar oude kleiamforen.
