Proefnotitie
De riesling heeft een lichtstrogele kleur met een zweem van groen en het complexe, gevarieerde bouquet onthult aroma’s van citrusvruchten, perziken en appels, wat bloesem en kruiden. In de mond is de 'Terra Montosa' sappig en beklijvend, met tonen van rijp geel fruit, florale en plantaardig-kruidige hints, een verkwikkend zuurtje, een uitgesproken mineraliteit en een compacte, diepe, verfijnde afdronk.

“De wijnen van Theresa Breuer overtuigen met hun elegantie, verfijning en tijdloze precisie”, schrijft Feinschmecker enthousiast en het tijdschrift eert het traditionele familiewijnhuis uit de Rheingau met 4,5 ‘Fs’. Vinum geeft ook 4,5 sterren en Eichelmann en Falstaff kenden zelfs de felbegeerde topwaardering toe: 5 sterren!

The peachy core of this excellent dry riesling has an exotic fruit and flower complexity that gives it a unique personality. Intense crushed rock minerality on the very focused, medium-bodied palate. Very long, straight finish with complex candied citrus and wild herb character.

The 2023 Riesling Terra Montosa is made from all the steep sites of the estate: Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland, Berg Roseneck, Berg Schlossberg, Rauenthaler Nonnenberg and Lorcher Pfaffenwies. It is blended after all the single-site wines have been decided on. The 2023 opens with a beautifully serene tone of peppermint tea, followed by pure, ripe, lifted Amalfi lemon peel. The palate has a touch of creaminess from oak that sits well with the generous fruit, swirling and swishing on the streamlined palate. All is present: fine freshness, plush fruit, proper contour and much elan. This is a rather seductive wine for all the Riesling skeptics out there.

Bottled in July,the 2023 Terra Montosa is clear and slightly crunchy/slatey on the intense and elegant, finely iodine-inflected and pretty complex nose. Silky, refined and balanced on the palate, this is an intense and substantial yet delicate and balanced Riesling from Rüdesheim Mountain. The wine reveals intense fruit with crunchy minerals and fine phenol grip on the finish. 12% stated alcohol.

Gegrilde vis en zeevruchten – begeleidt ook uitstekend de verfijnde Aziatische keuken en zoetzure gerechten.
De wijn
Voor de 'Terra Montosa' gebruikt Theresa Breuer de op één na beste partijen van de topwijngaarden van haar wijnhuis. Naast de steile cru-wijngaarden in Rüdesheim - Berg Roseneck, Berg Schlossberg en Berg Rottland - zijn dit de Lorcher Pfaffenwies en de Rauenthaler Nonnenberg. De bodems bestaan uit fylliet, klei en kwartsleisteen. Na de selectieve handmatige oogst werden de rieslingdruiven voorzichtig geperst en de most werd vervolgens gefermenteerd bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur. De wijn rijpte in grote houten vaten.
