Proefnotitie
De riesling presenteert zich in een helder, licht strogeel. In de neus komen intense aroma's van citrusfruit, perziken en een vleugje groene appels naar voren. Op de tong toont zich een levendige zuurgraad die perfect harmonieert met de fruitige tonen. De mineraliteit is afkomstig van het riviergesteente in de grond en geeft de wijn diepgang en complexiteit. De afdronk is langaanhoudend, sappig en fris.

This succulent and elegant dry riesling is still slightly dominated by the flinty character from the long lees contact in oak, in the same way that the Coche-Dury white Burgundies are at this stage. Very straight and focused, this just needs some time in the bottle. From biodynamically grown grapes. Wild-fermented in large neutral oak. Vegan.

The straw-yellow colored 2022 Wachenheimer Goldbächel P.C. is very intense and complex on the still young and untamed nose that indicates ripe and concentrated fruit and long lees contact, but in fact, it only fermented more slowly (until November) and is very spicy and much less Riesling in flavors than one would expect. This has a more freaky than subtle nose, but this is just because it develops more slowly. On the palate, this is a tight and mineral but also textured and, again, still yeasty Riesling with remarkable finessed acidity and tannins that are almost like a red wine (or Pinot). This is a rich and expressive Riesling that is still on its way. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.

The 2022 Riesling Wachenheim Godlbächel P.C. is harvested from Triassic sandstone that is naturally divided into two parts, one on a brook and one slightly higher on drier soils and vinified separately. The key to this wine is soil management, taking in these different water availabilities. It is made half in stainless steel and half in large barrel. It has a lovely herbal savor before oaky creaminess kicks in. It is one of the earliest vineyards to be harvested. This is smooth and creamy, with a lemony tinge on the nose, very charming, bone dry and most approachable, but with less length.

Gegrilde vis en zeevruchten – begeleidt ook uitstekend de verfijnde Aziatische keuken en zoetzure gerechten.
De wijn
Jaargang 2022 wordt gekenmerkt door een heel zacht voorjaar en een warme, droge zomer. Dit maakte een vroege start van de oogst mogelijk begin september. De druiven waren perfect rijp, gezond en hadden ondanks de warme zomer een schitterende zuurgraad, een gering alcoholpercentage en indrukwekkende mineraliteit. De gemiddelde opbrengst van de Goldbächel-wijngaard bedroeg in 2022 40 hl/ha.
