Riesling Goldtröpfchen VDP.Grosses Gewächs 2022

Plenty of candied orange peel, flint and dried tarragon aromas give this medium-bodied dry Mosel riesling a very distinctive personality. Ripe and concentrated, yet precise and very clean in the bright and complex wet-stone finish. Just beginning to give its best.

From an extraordinarily dry and sunny year, the 2022 Goldtröpfchen GG shows a first maturity on the very attractive and open nose that is less juicy and fruit-intense than the 2023 but is a classical Mosel Riesling ambassador that combines the delicately concentrated fruit with savory and saline notes of broken slate and refined dried herbal (thyme, marjoram) aromas with fine mocha bean nuances. The wine is round and lush on the palate, quite smooth and textured and develops a fruit-intense and aromatic finish with body and sustainability. It's very stimulating in its salinity, even if the 2022 is richer and maybe a little more powerful than the 2023.
