Proefnotitie
De ‘Cenizas Mezcla Tinta’ 2021 is een wijn vol elegantie en frisheid. De cuvée biedt volop fruit van pruimen, kersen, frambozen en bosbessen. Ook kruidige tonen zoals rozemarijn, tabak, bakkruiden en een vleugje eikenhout zijn aanwezig. Vooral de fijne tannines maken indruk, die prachtig versmelten met de frisse zuren en minerale toetsen, die tot in de lange finale van zich laten horen.

Winemaker Rafael Tirado has great faith in the merlot from this Andean zone of Maule, and one of the wines that justifies that confidence is this blend, which this year is 65% merlot, along with 25% cabernet franc, and the rest is cabernet sauvignon, all from vineyards are planted on volcanic soils where the Andean foothills first emerge. It has a lean, athletic body and fine-yet-firm tannins, along with the fresh red fruit flavors, the mineral tones that evoke its origin, and the sharp acidity of an Andean red. A delicious, fruity wine that’s also filled with a sense of place.

A touch of black beans to the black cherries, dark plums, spice box and tobacco. Flavorful and nicely chewy on the palate, with a medium to full body and a flavorful finish. Shows nice length and generous fruit in the finish. 65% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon.

De wijn
De wijnstokken staan aangeplant in bogen op steile hellingen ten noorden van het Colbún-meer en wortelen zich in vulkanische as en graniet. Dit jaar bestaat de cuvée uit 65% merlot, 25% cabernet franc en 10% cabernet sauvignon. De druiven werden gevinifieerd in roestvrijstalen en betonnen tanks en rijpten in gebruikte Franse vaten van 400 liter.
