Proefnotitie
De ‘Eneo’ is een diepe, sappige en donkerfruitige wijn. Hij is zowel weelderig en intens als gestructureerd en gefocust. In de neus onthult hij aroma’s van kersen en kersenpitten, rode pruimen, frambozen en bramen. Daarnaast komen ook intense tonen van munt, kaneel en zoethout, een vleugje rook en cederhout naar voren. In de mond is dit een romige, smaakvolle, sappige wijn, die met een beetje lucht nu al ongelooflijk lekker is.

This is a blend of 65% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malvasia Nera from a warm vintage. The 2020 Eneo doesn't have the same pulp and mass that we see in the 2019 vintage; however, it does show lots of richness and intensity, especially in terms of bouquet. Perhaps the aromas are more focused and sharp in this wine, and there is a pretty mineral note that cuts a through line connecting the bouquet to the medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. This vintage feels more accessible compared to the 2019, and the alcohol content is a high 15%. Production is 29,000 bottles.

The 2020 Eneo is bright and effusive, with notable aromatic presence but perhaps a bit less textural intensity than most years. That will make it easy to drink with minimal cellaring. Red cherry fruit, blood orange, mint, cinnamon and a hint of cedar linger.
Past bij
De grote drie: pizza, hamburger, steak. Doet het ook goed bij streetfoodfavorieten zoals pulled pork.
De wijn
Deze wijn is een cuvée van 65% sangiovese, 25% cabernet sauvignon en 10% malvasia nera. De wijnstokken groeien in een wijngaard niet ver van zee op 60 tot 90 meter boven zeeniveau. De bodem wordt gekenmerkt door een aandeel galestro, silex en klei. De wijn rijpte tien tot twaalf maanden deels in barriques en deels in tonneaux – ongeveer 40% van het hout was nieuw.
